WEEKEND WRAP-UP

I hope you all had a great Easter weekend!

We started Easter weekend with...wait for it....BASEBALL! Ha! I know that shocks most of you!

IMG_0808.jpg

Cutter played the 8:00pm game Friday night and they got another WIN!

IMG_0815.jpg

He scored the first run of the game!

We LOVE our #19!

On Saturday morning, we loaded up and headed to Waco to see our girl!

We started with lunch at Chuys!

IMG_5407.jpg

It was CrAzY windy!

After lunch, we headed over for coffee at Pinewood! Alyssa and her roommate Kayla had sent me pics of their coffees from this new coffeehouse they had tried. It's such a cute atmosphere. Inside and outside seating and lots of college kids!

IMG_0820.jpg

Isn't it so pretty?! I had a latte with the house syrup. SO GOOD!

We got our coffees to go but if you drink it there, it is served in a pretty blue cup!

Next up, HEY SUGAR!

IMG_0822.jpg

Hey Sugar is the CUTEST candy store!

Cutter walked in and said "Wow! Is it a buffet?!" Ha! #bringonthecandy

IMG_0825.jpg

Bacon and Cheese Crickettes, anyone??

IMG_0826.jpg

Everyone picked out a treat.

IMG_0833.jpg

Mark chose a shake!

IMG_0834.jpg

I had THE BEST cookie dough ice cream cone! Note - this was the small!

IMG_0832.jpg

Kayla and Alyssa grabbed some Goo 4 you!

Next stop was Cameran Park to feed the ducks.

IMG_0840.jpg
IMG_0839.jpg
IMG_0842.jpg

Cameran Park is on the Brazos River. It is absolutely beautiful!

IMG_0843.jpg
IMG_0845.jpg

And a place for fun photo ops!

IMG_0835.jpg

Carson of course wanted on the tallest one!

IMG_0837.jpg

Cutter wasn't quite so sure about it! Ha!

IMG_0851.jpg

Mark convinced Conner and Alyssa to jump on too!

We ended our afternoon in Waco at....

IMG_0854.jpg

Magnolia!

It was really a beautiful afternoon to be outside!

IMG_0856.jpg

Mark and I walked through the store while the kids played some corn hole.

IMG_0861.jpg
IMG_0868.jpg

Carson was definitely THE BEST! He won against all his siblings!

IMG_0860.jpg

We went back to Alyssa's apartment for a little while so Mark and Conner could watch a few minutes of the basketball game and Cutter and Carson could have a snack before heading back home.

We LOVED spending the day in Waco!

Easter morning, Carson and Cutter were up early to hunt eggs around the house that the Easter bunny had hidden. I have ZERO pictures! #momfail

We attended church and then had lunch and an egg hunt with Mark's family.

IMG_0870 2.jpg

Look at my handsome boys!!

IMG_0888.jpg

My beautiful sister-in-laws, Karen and Anne!

IMG_0886.jpg

Sweet cousins waiting to hunt!

We had over 300 eggs to hide.

In honor of April Fool's Day, we hid only 20 and let them search and search. They each only had about 3 or 4 eggs and couldn't believe how hard we had hidden them this year. Ha!  Conner figured it out that we didn't actually hide all of them and so they went back inside while we hid the rest!

IMG_0887.jpg

Ready for the REAL egg hunt!

IMG_0885.jpg
IMG_0883.jpg
IMG_0882.jpg

These two were looking for the money eggs! (What is Conner doing with his face?!)

We fill the eggs mostly with candy however each family fills a few money eggs that are hidden and usually harder to find. It's the only way we can get the older kids to still hunt!

IMG_0881.jpg

We now have a huge bag full of candy at our house!

I'm gonna need all the willpower today!

Have a wonderful week, friends!

CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR

Today I'm linking up with ANDREA to share Christmas Decor! I love to read these posts and take a peek inside everyone's homes this time of year. Christmas decor makes me happy!

Because our house is currently on the market for sale (You can take a home tour HERE), we decided to put up our Christmas tree and just a few Christmas touches throughout the house instead of everything Christmas this year. We were afraid our house might feel too cluttered for showings for potential buyers.

Therefore, I have a few Christmas touches to share today but I'm going to share more about our Christmas tree/ornaments.

IMG_0787.JPG

When we built our house, we knew we would buy a new Christmas tree. Mark insisted it not be a "skinny tree". I think he succeeded! #littlefull #lotofsap Can you quote that Christmas movie?!

Our living room ceilings are 10 foot so Mark found the tallest tree that would fit and still be able to have a star on top.

We always set it up in the corner of our living room which does block off one entrance to the hallway leading to the kids' rooms however there is another entrance and it's only for a month. We can all use the extra steps!

IMG_0793.JPG

All 6 stockings match. #markisocd #soiam Ha!

We always hang our stockings from oldest to youngest - Dad, Mom, Alyssa, Conner, Carson, Cutter. Is this normal? I see other people hang theirs in no order at all. Just curious how you hang yours...

IMG_0758.jpg

Our first Christmas together, Mark gave me a snow globe with the year on it. Every year since, he has given me a new one. However, if you notice, there are a few missing. Sweet Conner broke one when he was a toddler. We didn't have a fireplace at that house and so we had them on a shelf that evidently he could reach. We also lost one in the move that got broken.

IMG_0799.jpg

Did you see Buddy, our elf, hiding on the mantle?

IMG_0751.jpg

When I taught 3rd grade, one of my students gave me this singing Christmas tree. You press the button and he dances and sings O Christmas Tree. My own kids look forward to getting him out every year! He is in the living room too for all to enjoy.

IMG_0777.jpg

Last year, Cutter decided he wanted his own snow globe and asked for a Stars Wars one for his room.

IMG_0775.jpg

We added a few Christmas pictures on the coffee bar and in the kitchen.

This sign greets you in our entry way.

Along with our little snowman.

And this sign is in my office.

Our Christmas tree is decorated with a hodge podge of ornaments. Glass balls, ornaments the kids have made over the years, ornaments that have been gifted to us, or some we have picked up while traveling. Again, since we didn't get out everything Christmas this year. I thought I would share some of the ornaments with you.

IMG_0759.jpg

This was one of the first ornaments Alyssa made when she was in pre-school. She was SO PROUD of it! Now that she is almost 20 yrs old, she still loves seeing it on the tree.

One of my favorites of Alyssa and Conner!

This sweet cross was made by one of my students many years ago.

IMG_0768.jpg

This ornament I brought back from my Mission trip to Thailand in 2010.

IMG_0762.jpg

And this one is from Thailand that I brought back for my Dad. He passed away in December that year before Christmas, so it is on my tree. We miss him every single day.

IMG_0749.jpg

We have several ornaments that represent us.

IMG_0750.jpg

Mark is a HUGE Kentucky Wildcat Basketball fan!

IMG_0767.jpg

And a HUGE Elvis fan too!

IMG_0772.jpg

Give me all the shoes!

IMG_0781.jpg

One of our favorite things to do in the winter is go out to Mark's parent's cabin aka The Creek, and make smores around the fire.  Mark's sister gave us this ornament a few years ago and it is perfect to remember those sweet times!

IMG_0784.jpg

Our brother-in-law went on a Mission trip to Russia several years ago and brought us this ornament. Don't you love ornaments from around the world? It is a great reminder to be praying for others!

The two most precious ornaments on our tree are in memory of our two babies in heaven. It is always emotional to hang them every year. At night, I sit by the tree in the quiet and think about those sweet babies with Jesus.

This is the back of the ornament.

Merry Christmas from the Ferry family!

That's our home this year!

Happy HAPPY Tuesday!

THANKSGIVING BREAK {2017}

Our kiddos had the week off this year for Thanksgiving and we took FULL advantage of some much needed family time!

These two were on their bikes as soon as they got home from school on Friday.

IMG_0590.jpg

It has still been in the 60s and 70s here in Texas so the weather has been perfect for playing outside. Although, I am definitely ready for it to get cooler for the holidays! (and for a change in wardrobe!) #bringonthesweaters

IMG_0594.jpg

We went to east Texas to my Mom's lake house the weekend before Thanksgiving to celebrate with my family.

My Mom's three sisters were there and my grandmother. That's my pretty Momma on the left!

IMG_0620.jpg

Love my sweet Granny!

Side note: I grew up calling her "Granny". When Alyssa was little, she called my Mom, Granny Pat, and so she started calling my grandmother "Granny from far away" because we had to drive farther (4 hours) to her house. So cute and it stuck! We love our Granny from Far Away!

We ate a big Thanksgiving lunch on Saturday with everyone. My older brother, Jeremy, my sister, Tiffani, my niece, and nephew were all there as well. We had a house full! On Sunday, we had coffee on the deck and then got in a little fishing before we headed home.

IMG_0625.jpg

My Mom, niece, and Carson on the dock.

IMG_0627.jpg

This was my view all morning. It is so beautiful and so peaceful. I just love the lake house!

IMG_0634.jpg
IMG_0629.jpg

Cutter and Carson fished with me but I was the only one who caught one!

IMG_0645.jpg

We cleaned up and headed into Terrell for lunch with Alyssa before she headed back to Waco for a few more days of classes.

IMG_0639.jpg

Her brothers were excited to see her for the weekend!

IMG_0643.jpg

Conner played a basketball game at home on Tuesday. #loveour22

IMG_0669.jpg

Alyssa came home from Waco on Wednesday. LOVE having our girl home!!

We taught Carson and Cutter to play Canasta! I think we may have set a record for the longest first round EVER! #anhourandahalflater #theylovedit

IMG_0676.jpg

We spent Thanksgiving Day at Mark's parent's house. We ate all the traditional feast of turkey and dressing, sides, and desserts and more dessert and more dessert.  Then dessert again for dinner!

IMG_0680.jpg

My MIL, Ruth, makes THE BEST lemon pie! Honestly, all her pies are delicious. She makes her crusts from scratch and it takes her days to bake all the pies. Pecan, pumpkin, lemon, chess, and Mark's favorite, coconut. #alittlepieceofheaven

IMG_0682.jpg

All the girls!

My SIL Karen, SIL Anne, Alyssa, me, and my MIL, Ruth. Isn't she the cutest?! I am THANKFUL to be a part of this family. We have a lot of fun together!

Hope your Thanksgiving break was full of food, laughter, and love as well!
